Parents can review, correct, or delete their child’s information at any time, and the app follows strict data-minimization principles, using only what is necessary for the service to function. Elody does not sell or use children’s data for targeted advertising, and applies reasonable security practices to keep information protected. In short, it is built as a safe, private learning space for kids, with privacy by design and full parent oversight.

Elody is designed for early learners ages 4–8, including pre-readers and emerging readers. Yes — many toddlers enjoy Elody, even though it is primarily designed for children ages 4–8. Younger children are naturally drawn to its gentle pace, warm narration, and beautiful music fragments that help them play comfortably and intuitively, gently building foundational musical skills as they play, without needing to read at all.

Elody also introduces toddlers to a friendly and charming cast of animal characters, each inspired by their real-world features. These characters create a warm, believable story world that feels magical yet grounded, offering toddlers a gentle way to explore early musical concepts and simple cause-and-effect relationships.

During development, we conducted in-depth interviews with experienced piano teachers to understand the core skills they focus on in early classes—steady beat, pitch matching, melodic movement, listening accuracy, and familiarity with simple notation. We brought these teaching insights into a modern, child-friendly, iPad-first musical app that is also fully available on iPhone.

And if your child is a piano beginner, Elody reinforces rhythm, intervals, melodic contours, and early notation through short, guided activities that support steady progress between classes.

Elody is designed for short, predictable sessions that fit naturally into a child’s day. As a guide: about 5–10 minutes for ages 4–5, 10–15 minutes for ages 6–7, and 15–20 minutes for ages 8–9. One focused activity is enough; ending on a small win keeps motivation high.

There’s no need for streaks or pressure. Most families find that one session on school days and a couple of relaxed rounds at the weekend keep learning steady, enjoyable, and sustainable over time.

Elody is designed for iOS and runs on both iPad and iPhone. The app is recommended for iPad, where the larger display offers young children clearer visuals and more comfortable tap targets during musical activities. Elody also works smoothly on iPhone, which is convenient for flexible, on-the-go use or shared family devices, and all learning content is available on both. The app can be used offline, contains no ads or tracking, and an Android version is planned for a future release.
